Notes :
  • This tool can root more android devices and it is harmless if it fails to root your device.
  • This process won't delete any data, but backup your important data just in case this process corrupt your files.
  • Rooting by using this method will not change the binary or KNOX counter.

This actually worked really well! Thank you OP!

    ReplyDelete
  43. No, I mean I didn't install CWM. But if you do so, it voids your warranty as for now there's no way to reset that counter.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have a problem I haven't seen in these discussions. After my phone reboots I can no longer hook my phone up via USB. Everything was working fine up till then but now my phone doesn't even get the USB icon in the notification tray. I waited for over a half an hour for the root kit to re-recognize my phone before I messed with anything. Quadrupal checked all of my drivers but it just looks like my phone just isn't trying to hook up to my computer at all so it seams like it is on the phone side of the equation.

  52. Could anyone help? I was able to get my phone rooted and install CMW recovery via Rom Manager, but when I go to recovery I get an error message saying System software no authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. It won't let me do anything from there.

  53. I had rooted my galaxy note 2 indian with this process and my knox warranty voidflag tripped and its showing from 0 to 1...
Can I revert it back plz help ...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not true, you don't use this method to root your device or you use another thing after using this method so that it trip knox and no way to reset it

    ReplyDelete
  55. you can't install custom recovery

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is there a way to reverse this? Safestrap will not work with this? Rooted a note 2 on i605vruemj9. Do

    ReplyDelete
  57. After rooting using this method, would I be able to change the APN setting on my S3? I need to able to change the APN, I will be traveling out of the country.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Just went through this. You need to find the stock recovery mode. Then do a factory reset and clear the dalvik cache. Then you can get the correct samsung rom from samsung-updates.com

    ReplyDelete
  59. Tried the above step but nothing happens. It does not root. Says device not found after a few steps. What do I do.. installed the SuperSU also but after the binary update and normal installation it says installation failed. Reboot and try again. Tried many times to no avail. Please help

    ReplyDelete
  63. This method does not allow you to unlock the bootloader. This means that you won't be able to install customer recovery or custom ROMs. So it is pretty pointless unless you just want root access.

  87. I9300?
    1. I9300 doesn't have KNOX on Android 4.3 jelly bean
    2. If your device is I9300, use this : http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2014/02/Safe-Root-Android-4.3-Galaxy-S3-GT-I9300-No-Warranty-Void.html and no need for triangle away app

    ReplyDelete
  88. I don't know and I can't test saferoot for I9506 because I don't have it.
You can to try it, it is harmless if it fails to root your device.

    ReplyDelete
  89. This method won't work on S4 running KitKat

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks for your quick answer.
So, you mean that I can try and if it fails it won't trigger Knox warranty void?
If it succeed, do you know if I'll be able to install exposed framework?
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  91. If it fails, it won't trigger Knox warranty.
If it succeed, yes you can install exposed framework.

does this have the unroot.bat in it or do i get that elsewhere?

    ReplyDelete
  93. TwistedPoet Jr. XDA member12 April, 2014 15:20

As far as I know, this only currently works on 4.3 or below. Anything above that needs and different method. And no it won't unlock th bootloader. Matter of fact, if you're on Verizon, nothing unlocks the bootloader. For any Android 4,3 or higher.

    ReplyDelete
  94. TwistedPoet Jr. XDA member12 April, 2014 15:22

That is of course as long as they're on 4.3 or lower. Anything above 4.3 isn't compatible at this time as far as i know. Therefore, it won't do anything
