After updating Samsung galaxy S3/S4/Note 2/ Note 3 to Android 4.3 jelly bean update which contains the new security from Samsung "Samaung KNOX", you might face a problem if you tried to root your device by using CF-Auto-Root method or other methods.
This might happened because of KNOX security, it block/disable SuperSu app and you will see this notification after the first boot.
In some cases you will not see SuperSU after rooting in your application list
You can enable it by going to Settings / More / Application manager, Swipe to DISABLED tab and Enable SuperSU app.
How to fix KNOX problem :
1. Go to Google Play, Search and update/install SuperSU app
2. When you will open SuperSU for the first time it will ask you to update the SU binary
3. Tap on "Continue" then "Normal" not the "CWM/TRP".
4. SuperSU will detect Samsung KNOX security and will ask you to disable KNOX, Choose "OK"
5. After displaying "installation success!", reboot your device.
Done !
Now SuperSU and root access should be working fine for you.

Download and install the latest APK for SuperSU like MrW0lf suggested.
I was having the same exact problem (unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped), so I downloaded the latest UPDATE-SuperSU file and extract it to have supersu APK, put it on my SD card in my phone and installed it from there.
It was strange because the version that was already on my phone was the same 1.89 version that I downloaded, but regardless, when I clicked on the APK, it saw it as an update, it asked to disabled knox, and worked like a charm.

SuperSU Pro Google Play
Thank you so much!
ReplyDeletethank you very much, this was very helpful alot!!! god bless you for this amazing discovery lol

ReplyDeletetnaks
I, too, am having the same issue with my S3 running 4.3. I just rooted for the first time tonight and I'm getting the Knox and SuperSU errors. When I try and open SuperSU from Google Play (no option to update), I get the persistent "Unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped" error. :(
ReplyDeleteAny solution as of yet?
ReplyDeleteNope! Still looking for a solution.
ReplyDeleteI finally got it, after HOURS of messing around.
ReplyDeleteThis video by W0lfDroid was the solution:

Along with his tutorial and links:

Additionally, in Step 10, I also loaded this file (I'm not sure if it helped, but it certainly didn't hurt!):

(DE-SAMSUNGNIZER KNOX REMOVAL SCRIPT V1.0.zip)
Hope this helps you!
no option to update
ReplyDeleteWhen using the CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip, the SuperSU app is installed. Unfortunately, when it's added this way, there is no UPDATE option, only an OPEN option, which is unhelpful. I tried to install the SuperSU .apk, but it just refuses to install. At this point, we need a way to install the SuperSU app and then install it via the play store. Then we could have a crack at the initial view and maybe get around KNOX.
ReplyDeleteDownload and install the latest APK for SuperSU like MrW0lf suggested. I was having the same exact problem, so I downloaded the latest APK from XDA, put it on my SD card in my phone and installed it from there. It was strange because the version that was already on my phone was the same 1.89 version that I downloaded, but regardless, when I clicked on the APK, it saw it as an update, it asked to disabled knox, and worked like a charm.
ReplyDeleteI am having that same problem, I updated to 1.89 thinking it would disable that security problem but it did not.. after I updated from 1.86 it asked to disable knox just like it was stated on this page but I still keep getting that same error.. I was trying to use my phone as a hotspot, please advise if there is anything I can do
ReplyDeleteI have also rebooted my phone , it seems that I only get this security message when I turn on the wifi sharing app,, I am using galaxy s3 sph l710 (sprint) on 4.3 update.
ReplyDeleteThis really worked for me! download the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.89 from xda and unzip, go to common folder and then copy the superuser.apk and install from memory card. that's it!
ReplyDeleteHi...I tried installing via the apk file on a S3 running 4.3, but it just says "not installed"
ReplyDeletedownload the terminal emulater in the market place and put "su pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid" that worked for me
ReplyDeleteBIG! Thanks
ReplyDeleteouch! didn't work in my cherry mobile flare s (Q360) Manufacturer HTC. The chinese superuser was removed however the superSU was not installed. Also something went wrong with the root access so I had to root my device again.
ReplyDeleteI had that problem too, all you need to do is instead of pressing run, press update and afterwards it should work :D
ReplyDeleteWhat about if I've gotten so far gone that I can't boot into Android any more.
ReplyDeleteworked for me! KUDOS to you, sir! THUMBS UP!
ReplyDeleteworked! thanks
ReplyDeleteOk, I think I have the solution, but first of all, sorry about my english. I'm portuguese.
ReplyDeleteSo, this worked for me:
When you have "SuperSU has stopped" error, just download SuperSU apk last version to your phone or sd card install it, then run it. Never reboot before running it.
Go to SuperSU settings, look for Reinstall (cleaning to install from google play) (translated from portuguese). This will uninstall SuperSU.
Now, go to Google Play and install SuperSU. After that, follow the steps, on the top of this tutorial.
Hope this will help you.
I did everything that was said up there and it worked! But I wanted to know if it is really like that, that whenever I restart my note2 the "unfortunately, superSU has stopped "pops out after the boot. Then I go to the apk version of the superSU and install it then it would be okay again. So I was just wondering if it is really like that? Do I have to re-run the apk version everytime I restart my phone? Or did I do something wrong?
ReplyDeleteNevermind, it's fixed lol
ReplyDeleteOh this worked beautifully!! I kept having to run the apk everytime I rebooted but now "SuperSU has stopped" error it is gone forever! THANKS!
ReplyDeleteThanks lot for the article. It helped me lot. I was facing this problem in my Note 2 N7102. Now itz working fine. Thanks again

ReplyDeleteI start SuperSU on my S3 Android 4.3 and it says There is no SU binary and so on, and it also say : "If you just upgrade to Android 4.3, you need to manually re-root-consult the relevevant forums for your device"... so it still don't work this fix?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! My problem was solved, SuperSU running perfectly! :D
